Tropical Soda Apple (Solanum viarum)
Note: Solanum chrysotrichum (Devil’s Fig) is another, very similar invasive species that is now being found in Sydney:
Solanum chryostrichum has the potential also to become a problem so this should not be overlooked if plants are found.
There are similar looking native plants so it is important to be cautious with identification of these species.
Be 100% sure of what the plant is before destroying!!
Please contact Sydney Weeds Committee immediately if you suspect you have found one of the invasive Solanum species.
